STS Herbertpur school was formerly known as SFF senior secondary school with primary level education on 1st July 1970 in Chakrata , a small hilly town in Dehradun district . It was gradually upgraded to high secondary level and then to senior secondary school in the year 1986. Later it was relocated to Herbertpur town in June 1980.
The schoolwas primarily founded to impart quality education to the wards of army personnel serving special frontier force SFF army. The complete management and the administration of the school were supervised by SFF. (The special frontier force (SFF) is a paramilitary special force of Indian created on 14Th Nov 1962 with the recruitment of Tibetan. It is also known by the establishment no 22.
On 25th July 1994 SFF senior Secondary School was transferred to CTSA and renamed as C.S.T Herbertpur but the hostel facility continues to be administered by SFF Army.
With the time on 26th of December 2022 following a major shift in the policy CST Herbertpur was transferred to STSS/DOE Dharamsala and renamed as Sambhota Tibetan School Herbertpur .The hostel facility continued to be administered by SFF Army.
SFF/CST andnow STS Herbertpur senior secondary school whose noble mission includes providing value –based quality education of global standard to its students. The school is affiliated to CBSE board (Affiliation no. 3590002, school code: 84007). The medium for instruction from class I to V isTibetan and from class VI to XII is English.
STSH has classes from standard 1 to XII and offers Humanities and Science stream with PCB and PCM.
The school has an ideal building to cater the all-round development of students. The school has a separate wing for the primary section, a big monastery where students gather for prayers. well-equipped spacious labs for Physic, biology and chemistry, computer lab, library with the latest books, language lab, Maths lab, Geography lab, dance and musicroom, Games and sports room, a big football ground ,resource room, separate clean lavatories for both students and staff.
The school has a very good ambience of greenery with different fruit trees and gardens surrounding the school campus.
