Sambhota Tibetan School, Gulledhalla

The school is located in the old camp No. 5 and 6 of Lugsam Tibetan settlement in Bylakuppe, Mysore district, Karnataka State. It was established in 1977 as a branch of CST Bylakuppe, which was managed by the Central Tibetan School Administration (CTSA), an organization under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The main goal was to provide education to Tibetan children in India while preserving their culture. The school follows the curriculum developed by NCERT and is affiliated with CBSE, Delhi. In 1995, the language of instruction was changed from English to Tibetan, and the grading system is followed.

The school has good facilities, including a computer room, library, Music/Dance room, MLL, and sports facilities. It operates as a day school and provides textbooks, notebooks, and mid-day meals to the students.

On December 3rd, 2013, the school was taken over by the Sambhota Tibetan Schools Society under the Department of Education, CTA Dharamsala. It offers classes from I-V and has introduced initiatives like Classroom Reading Corner and Teacher Professional Development since 2015-16 to encourage reading habits in children and to enhance teacher efficiency.
