Sambhota Tibetan School, Paonta Sahib

The School was initially set up in 1968 as an immediate arrangement to provide education to the children of Tibetan refugees, settled at Cholsum Bhuppur, Paonta Sahib (H.P) under the Administration of Tibetan Industrial Rehabilitation Society with only 63 children. With the blessings of H.H. The XIV Dalai Lama, kind help and consideration from the Government of India and the generous support from kind hearted sponsors, the school has upgraded up to secondary level in 1992 and senior secondary level in 1997 with the affiliation of central board of secondary education (CBSE) Delhi and under the kind management of Department of education Dharamsala.

With the passing of school management under Sambhota Tibetan schools Administration, Gangchen Kyishong, Dharamsala on 16th June 1999, the period of infrastructural planning has almost completed and a new phase of progress and excellence have taken their roots in the school agenda. The school is currently managed and funded by Sambhota Tibetan schools society, Dharamsala (STSS) which is an autonomous organization under the direct supervision of the department of education and CTA.

The school is downgraded to a primary level on 9th January 2022 with classes from Stage I to Class-V. The school aims to provide an environment that encourages each student to develop qualities imbibed from the four principles of Basic education policy. (Namely freedom, altruism, upholding the heritage and innovation).
