Mr. Tsering Dhondup was born and brought up in Ladakh. He received his schooling at TCV Ladakh and UTCV Dharamsala. He has pursued multiple academic degrees including B.Sc., M.A., and B.Ed. In addition, he completed a 6-month education course in Denmark. His formal career began in November 1989 as a TGT Science cum Headmaster at CST Paonta until March 1998. Subsequently, he served as a Rector at various Central Schools for Tibetans (CST), including Mundgod, Kalimpong, Darjeeling, and Dalhousie, from April 1998 to February 2005. From February 2005 to March 2012, he held the positions of Headmaster and Principal at STS Bhuntar. He then served as the Deputy Director of the Centre for Teacher Education of the Department of Education (DoE) in Bhuntar (HP) from April 2012 to December 2013. Continuing his dedicated work in education, he served as the Education Officer (Science) at the Department of Education, Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) in Dharamsala from January 2014 to March 2016. Subsequently, he took on the charge as the Director of the Centre for Tibetan Education of DoE, Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies (CIHTS) a Deemed University, Varanasi, from April 2016 to August 2019. His commitment to education extended further as he served as the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) at DoE, CTA, from September 2019 to August 5, 2020. Currently, he holds the position of Director at Sambhota Tibetan Schools Society, commencing from March 6, 2020. Throughout his career, Mr. Tsering Dhondup has actively engaged in various academic activities, in-service training, and meetings, showcasing his dedication to professional development and growth. His journey reveals a strong commitment to education, leadership, and continuous growth within the Tibetan educational community.

Mr. Namgyal Yemphel has an impressive educational and professional background, marked by his dedication to education and his contributions to various Tibetan schools under the Sambhota Tibetan School Society (STSS). Born and raised in Bylakuppe Lugsum Samdupling Tibetan Settlement, South India, Mr. Namgyal Yemphel’s educational journey started at CST Bylakuppe. His commitment to academic excellence became evident when he secured the top position in the class XII board examination among all Tibetan schools in the year 1994. Continuing his pursuit of education, he completed a four-year integrated teacher training course, B.A. B.Ed., at the Regional Institute of Education, Mysore, in 1998. His academic foundation and teacher training prepared him for a meaningful career in education. His professional journey began as an English language teacher at STS Chauntra, where he served from 1998 to 2001. In March 2001, he was transferred to STS Dekyiling, where he continued to contribute as a middle school English teacher until 2006. Recognizing his dedication and capabilities, he was promoted to the post of a Primary School Headmaster in September 2006. His journey led him to STS Shillong, where he served for seven and a half years. His commitment to education and leadership skills were further acknowledged when he was promoted to the position of Principal at STS Paonta Sahib in February 2014. In March 2017, Mr. Namgyal Yemphel was appointed as the Director of Sambhota Tibetan School Society, a position he held for three years. His tenure as the Director concluded on March 5, 2020, and he was transitioned to the Department of Education, CTA as an Officer on Special Duty (OSD). Currently, Mr. Namgyal Yemphel serves as the Principal of STS Dolanji. His extensive experience spans over 21 years, during which he has worked in various capacities at different schools under the Sambhota Tibetan Schools Society. His journey reflects a strong commitment to education, leadership, and continuous growth within the Tibetan educational community. His journey reflects a strong passion for education and a continuous pursuit of excellence in various leadership roles within the educational sector.

Mr. Karma Chungdak’s educational journey and professional achievements showcase a dedicated commitment to education and leadership within the Tibetan community. He began his education at the Tibetan Children’s Village School in Patlikuhl, Himachal Pradesh, where he completed his primary education. He continued his education at the Central School for Tibetans (CST) in Dalhousie, Himachal Pradesh, completing his intermediate and senior secondary studies. In 1981, he graduated from CST Dalhousie and pursued higher education at Punjab University, Chandigarh, specializing in professional education. He earned degrees in B.A., B.Ed., M.A., and M.Ed. from 1981 to 1987. Mr. Karma Chungdak embarked on his teaching career after completing his higher studies, dedicating ten years to various Central Schools for Tibetans under CTSA. On April 4, 1997, he took on a significant role as the Education Officer cum Deputy Secretary of the Department of Education, Central Tibetan Administration, Dharamsala, Himachal Pradesh, contributing to the educational development of the Tibetan community. His notable achievement came on June 16, 1999, when he was appointed as the founding Director of the Sambhota Tibetan Schools Society (STSS). In this capacity, he played a pivotal role in shaping and leading STSS for over 17 years, until November 10, 2016. He assumed the role of the 15th General Secretary of the Tibetan Homes Foundation, Mussoorie on 16th November, 2016, and served with dedication until 28th December, 2021. His commitment to Exile Education and the holistic advancement of the organization is truly commendable. His efforts have left a lasting impact on THF’s history and development. Mr. Karma Chungdak’s expertise and contributions have been recognized beyond his tenure. He was appointed as the Project Director by Gadhen Phodrang (Office of His Holiness the Dalai Lama) to establish “The Dalai Lama Centre for Tibetan and Indian Ancient Wisdom” in Bodhgaya, Bihar since 5th January, 2022. The Centre aims to spread the wisdom and teachings of His Holiness the Dalai Lama for the benefit of people worldwide. Mr. Karma Chungdak’s lifelong journey from his role as the founding Director of STSS to his current role as the Project Director demonstrates his continued dedication and commitment to meaningful and impactful service within the Tibetan community and the promotion of ancient wisdom.
