Sambhota Tibetan School, Kailashpura
CST Kailashpura was renamed as Sambhota Tibetan School, Kailashpura and it was merged to Sambhota Tibetan schools Society, Dharamsala recently. It is a primary day school situated at Lugsum Tibetan settlement, Bylakuppe about 100km from Mysore in the Karnataka state.
His Holiness’s long vision of educating future seeds of Tibet and overwhelming support from the Indian government, Kailashpura School was able to set up in the early 1964 under the administration of the Central Tibetan Administration, New Delhi, MHRD, Government of India.
The school was initially started in 1960 at the residential place of old camp no. 1 and 2 in Bylakuppe. In the year 1964 the school then had up to third standard with the strength of 100 students and three teachers. After passing class III the students pursued their studies for class IV and V at CST Bylakuppe. Later, when CST Bylakuppe was set up from class VI, CST Kailashpura was upgraded to class IV. The students were then sent to CST CVP Bylakuppe to pursue their studies for class V. In the late 1980’s CST Kailashpura was upgraded to class V as a primary school. Since then the school has been able to nourish and nurture many Tibetan students into a good human being. The dedication of the school faculties still remains the same.
On 3rd December 2013, the school was taken over by the Sambhota Tibetan Schools Society. The school strives to impart Basic Education Policy through holistic approach and ensures overall development of the future seeds of Tibet.
We have a strong support system from Parent-Teacher Association and the parents whenever in need and does always more than what has been asked for. As per CCE, the students here grow not only intellectually but physically as well. The students get to participate in different co-curricular activities and every year we have an annual sports day where majority of the students get opportunity to manifest their talents in different ways.
The teachers here keep on learning to enhance and update their knowledge. For that every once a month we have Professional Development Program in our school. Teachers also take active participation in various school programs which elucidate and sharpen the vision of the school.
